Rental Requirements
All Crown reservations are subject to approval. Review the requirements below before submitting your request.
HOW IT WORKS
Request-to-Reserve Approval
Crown uses request-to-reserve rather than instant booking. Submit your vehicle, date, delivery location, and rental purpose. Crown reviews availability, eligibility, delivery logistics, and any event details before approving the reservation.
Once approved, your written quote and rental agreement state any payment required to secure the date. All reservations are subject to approval — submitting a request does not guarantee a confirmed booking.
Driver's License
- A valid, unexpired driver's license is required for all approved renters.
- The renter's name on the license must match the name on the reservation and payment method.
- International renters must present a valid license from their home country along with an International Driving Permit where required.
Insurance
Approved self-drive renters must provide proof of coverage before keys are released. One of the following is required:
- Personal auto insurance with comprehensive and collision coverage — Crown verifies your policy before your rental date.
- Proof of insurance that meets Crown's requirements. Coverage varies by policy and vehicle; confirm applicable coverage directly with your insurer before booking.

Age Requirements
- Age requirements depend on the vehicle and reservation type.
- Renters aged 21–24 may be eligible on select vehicles and subject to approval — a young driver surcharge applies.
- Renters under 21 are not eligible to rent or drive Crown vehicles.
- Minors may not rent or drive under any arrangement, including prom, graduation, or family-led bookings.
Security Authorization
A refundable security authorization hold is required on your credit card before the vehicle is released. The authorization amount depends on the vehicle and reservation type.
- The authorization is a hold, not a charge — funds are not collected unless damages or violations occur.
- Crown initiates release after return and inspection. Your card issuer controls when the available credit is restored.
- The authorization amount is confirmed before your reservation is approved.
Mileage and Fuel
- Most Crown vehicles include 100 miles per day. The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS includes 125 miles per day.
- Additional mileage is quoted per-mile at rates confirmed in your reservation agreement.
- Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as delivery. Fuel replacement fees apply otherwise.
Prohibited Uses
Violations of the prohibited use policy may void the rental agreement, result in charges permitted by the agreement, and lead to immediate retrieval of the vehicle.
- ✗No racing, drag racing, speed runs, or track use.
- ✗No burnouts, drifting, reckless driving, or aggressive launch-control abuse.
- ✗No transportation of illegal substances or activity.
- ✗No subletting, peer-to-peer sharing, or third-party vehicle use.
- ✗Driving outside the approved delivery/use area requires written approval.
- ✗Passenger transport or chauffeur-style use is not permitted without prior written approval.
Photoshoots and Production Use
Crown offers content and production packages for approved photography, video, social media, and brand work. All production uses require written approval before the reservation is confirmed.
- Location, usage, timing, and production details must be approved in writing.
- No stunts, burnouts, reckless driving, or public-road rolling shots.
- Camera rigs and specialized mounts require prior written approval.
- Crew size, movement plan, and repositioning needs must be submitted during the request process.
